Nano Nano Nano

So, for my birthday in June, Jerry got me an IPOD nano. It has been so fun, I am really enjoying it. I have 970 songs loaded (thanks Ryan and Cayson). Everything from ACDC to Daughtry to John Mayer and James Taylor. If there is something I want to listen to, I probably have it. I have found the best tunes to walk to are ACDC - the rock edge sets my beat. Jack Johnson is great to relax and unwind. My IPOD is pink and girly. One of the coolest things is my new headphones from Skull Candy. Jerry got them at the moto-cross races two weekends ago in Delta. They have the best sound. I feel the music in my head. Much better than ear-buds. But they are kind of funky green stripe. I am hooked on them. My IPOD goes with me everywhere - in the car, on my walk, when I am making supper, in the bathtub. I really never thought I would love it as much as I do. But, I have one issue, my friend told me that my IPOD has put me in a time warp (that's you Mark). Maybe it is true, I don't know. I am listening to oldie songs like Kiss, Bob Seger, Carole King, and U2, but also listening to new stuff like Daughtry, Carrie Underwood, and stuff in the middle. My favs are still my Elton John albums and of course classic Santana. Time warp - doesn't really matter, I am back to rock 'n roll!! Thanks Honey, I love it!

Lonely Widow...

Well, Jerry has been working nights for the power plant outage. The nights are long, boring and lonely! Well, maybe the first few were nice to have some time to myself, but now I can't wait for this week to be done with!! At least it isn't a usual thing! But thank heavens for Kourt, she came up Friday to spend some time with me... I enjoyed having her here! We laughed, ate veggie pizza (which Jerry hates) and watched Twilight. Then a women's conference. It was OK. The first speaker was good, but then this weird new age class - we saved the giggles for after!! It was a nice break for both of us. Only two more lonely nights!! Love you Jer and miss you!!

What it's all about...

This last couple of weeks have given me a new perspective on life and what is really important. There is nothing more precious than family. Nothing brings me more joy than spending time with the ones I love. I love my kids, Zac & Kamill, Kourtney, Meghan & Casey, and Chase. I want the very best for them and even though they are grown, I still worry about them and I miss having them in my home. I love my grandkids, Ashton, Rylee, Easton, Boston, and Jaxon. They are all so wonderful, each with their own little personalities. I cannot even remember life without them. It is like they complete the circle. President McKay said, "No sucess can compensate for failure in the home." When I see my awesome family, I hope that our home was a place the wanted to be. Our life is simple, living day to day, but we have joy. I am so happy that this is the family we will have forever. I love each of you!

1920's

Those Roaring 20's!! Well, we can at least pretend once in a while. The Ambulance Association had their annual winter party. It was a 1920's theme, everyone had to come in costume. It was decorated like an Italian Restaurant. So fun... a murder mystery taking place during dinner. Fun to see how everyone dressed. A whole room full of mafia looking characters and their molls (ha ha). A few floozies like me and some very conservative, proper ladies. I won the prize for the best ladie's costume and our friend Rand won for the best men's costume. I personally thought Jerry looked pretty good :) What a terrific party!

Valentine's Day

I love Valentine's Day because it is when Jerry and I plan a date. Jerry sends me flowers and we plan to do something fun. This year we went to the movie and to dinner at our favorite place, Ruby River. It is so yummy! It was fun just to spend the whole day together - you would think that with all the kids away from home now, we would or should have lots of days together. It seems like we always have something to do, errands, going to see family, housework, etc. So it is nice to just spend the day enjoying each others company! I love Jerry and could not ever imagine my life without him. We have been married almost 30 years now! These are a couple of pictures of my flowers. Close up because we were figuring out my camera.

Snow Geese Time

One of my favorite things about living in Delta is Snow Geese Time. They fly in by the thousands. It is so fun to watch them land on the water at the Rez and then fly off to the fields in the evening. They come in February and March and stay for about two to three weeks. I can't believe how many geese fly in. You can actually hear them before you can see them. Here are some pictures I took this afternoon of our infamous Snow Geese - the Snow Geese festival is this coming Friday and Saturday.

American Idol - it's back...

The new season for American Idol starts Tuesday, January 13, 2009. I am so excited to have something to watch on TV. I admit it, I am hooked on Idol. It is so fun to watch and then compare notes with friends and family. So set your T-VO now, don't wanna miss it!!!

Snow Graffiti

Meg and her kids came up for the weekend. On Saturday, we filled some spray bottles with colored water and did some snow graffiti. It was a lot of fun. Most of the snow at our house had melted, so we shared our graffiti across the street. We ended the afternoon with some hot chocolate and a fire. The kids love the snow!
