Some of you will look at my favorite image and wonder if I have totally lost it. But, as with all my challenge posts, there is a story. There is always a story. And even though we know that all images tell a story, without the written word of explanation, it may not be the story we want to tell.
This image was taken the day after I got my new Nikon camera. It was so exciting to venture out, find a place in our little town to take an interesting photograph. It was more than just the purchase of a new camera, it represented something just for me. I saved for a while before I actually made the buy. Researching, reading, going to electronic stores to try out different cameras. I wanted just the right model. It was something I wanted for a while. A hobby, an interest, a way to express my thoughts and emotions. A way to be more than just a chair rocking, cookie baking, grandma. A way to preserve a bit of me.
There is great pleasure in taking a picture. It doesn't matter what the composition of the photograph, what does matter it that you enjoyed taking the picture. There is great satisfaction in learning something new. It is never too late to find something you enjoy doing, and spend time doing it.
