Simply Pears

It's funny how something can be so simple and delightful and regal all at the same time. It's pears.... they are so yummy just picked from a tree. There is something regal about a pear. Probably from a partridge in a pear tree or something. Nevertheless, they are one of my most favorite simple fruits. I love the smell, the taste, the grainy texture against your tongue. Simplicity at it's best.

Sunflowers

One of my most favorite things about summer is sunflowers. I love their bright, colorful petals. They are so cheerful. It is hard to be in a bad mood, when you look at sunflowers. We grow sunflowers in our yard. We have big ones in yellow, gold and rust. They are tall and look like happy soldiers guarding our tomatoes and peppers.

Shirley...

Shirley is a lab. She is smart. She retrieves, she sits, she hunts. Zac has trained Shirley very well. My favorite thing about Shirley is that she is gentle with kids. She lets the kids climb all over her. She plays with them. She watches them. She is a second set of eyes. Everybody loves Shirley. Oh, and all the kids love Zac, too. They follow him everywhere, which is especially fun when Shirley is there, too!

Delta Sunsets

One thing I have always loved about living in Delta is the beautiful sunsets. They light up the whole sky with orange and gold. They make you feel good inside. It doesn't matter if it is winter, fall, spring or summer - they are always beautiful. Breathtaking... I could sit and watch them night after night.

Blogging Again

OK, OK - so I am going to try blogging again. It was fun, I just didn't think I had anything very interesting to blog about. I talk to my kids everyday and they know just about everything that is going on with me. And I really don't think anyone else visits my blog. Nevertheless, I will follow the blogging example of my kids and try again. I do have a new camera, so I will post a blog photo on this blog of mine occassionally. These are fresh, yummy plums. They are so juicy. Reminds me of summer.

Nano Nano Nano

So, for my birthday in June, Jerry got me an IPOD nano. It has been so fun, I am really enjoying it. I have 970 songs loaded (thanks Ryan and Cayson). Everything from ACDC to Daughtry to John Mayer and James Taylor. If there is something I want to listen to, I probably have it. I have found the best tunes to walk to are ACDC - the rock edge sets my beat. Jack Johnson is great to relax and unwind. My IPOD is pink and girly. One of the coolest things is my new headphones from Skull Candy. Jerry got them at the moto-cross races two weekends ago in Delta. They have the best sound. I feel the music in my head. Much better than ear-buds. But they are kind of funky green stripe. I am hooked on them. My IPOD goes with me everywhere - in the car, on my walk, when I am making supper, in the bathtub. I really never thought I would love it as much as I do. But, I have one issue, my friend told me that my IPOD has put me in a time warp (that's you Mark). Maybe it is true, I don't know. I am listening to oldie songs like Kiss, Bob Seger, Carole King, and U2, but also listening to new stuff like Daughtry, Carrie Underwood, and stuff in the middle. My favs are still my Elton John albums and of course classic Santana. Time warp - doesn't really matter, I am back to rock 'n roll!! Thanks Honey, I love it!
